hatch

An experiment to bootstrap production-ready SaaS applications from user stories.

Hatch tested the idea of turning user stories directly into application scaffolds. The useful parts are now being redistributed into Stack, Shulkerbox, and Idea.

What problem does this solve?

User stories can become implementation too quickly and too literally. Hatch explored that edge, then exposed which parts belonged in a broader product-building system.

Activity signals

  • Recent commit added a soft tombstone instead of deleting the experiment.
  • The tombstone maps salvaged content to Stack, Shulkerbox, and Idea.
  • README now redirects readers to the preserved decision record.

Why it matters

  • Shows willingness to retire an approach cleanly when the architecture changes.
  • Keeps learning visible through a tombstone rather than hiding the pivot.
  • Contributed scaffolding ideas to the current product-system repos.
